How We Met

Sarah and Steve’s love story began the way all good modern love stories do…on hinge. Sarah swiped right on a boy after Christmas 2020 while in Delray Beach with her family. Little did she know, that boy was Steve, who was also down in Florida, actually hanging out with her brother that night. Turns out Steve’s cousin was one of Sarah’s brother’s very good friends from high school. After a few weeks of texting back and forth, and Steve battling Covid, Steve picked Sarah up to go on their first date to Jasper’s Backyard in Conshohocken. Upon Steve’s arrival to Sarah’s apartment building to pick her up, he discovered that two days prior he had signed a lease to live not only in the same apartment complex, but on the same floor as Sarah just five doors down. Sarah and Steve quickly realized that this first date was either going to be amazing or it could go horribly wrong and make for some very awkward elevator rides! Lucky for them, it was the best first date either could have ever imagined.

The Proposal

After 15 months of living down the hall from each other, Steve bought a house and asked Sarah to move in with him. Sarah happily obliged. Steve had always told Sarah that he had to live with her for at least a year before he would propose. But, as fate would have it, Steve just couldn’t wait. On Memorial Day Weekend 2023 in Stone Harbor, NJ, Steve had told Sarah they would be meeting friends for drinks before dinner with Sarah’s family. As this was a particularly windy day down the shore, Sarah was not exactly excited when Steve said they would be meeting their friends on the beach. As Sarah angrily trudged behind Steve on their walk, Steve decided to make a stop at the pavilion on 95th Street. It is here, with the beautiful Jersey coastline in the background, that Steve got down on one knee and asked Sarah to marry him. Sarah of course said yes! This was the biggest happy surprise of Sarah’s life since just days prior Steve had proclaimed that “only losers get engaged on holidays.” The two then went to a party filled with family and friends to celebrate their new engagement!

The Rest is History

Sarah and Steve have made incredible memories together. They were able to enjoy many vacations including Nashville, Hilton Head Island, Las Vegas, a Caribbean cruise, and countless weekends down the shore. Steve visited Sarah’s class where all of the kids fell instantly in love with him! Maybe it was his charm…or maybe it was the popsicles he brought them. The two have spent numerous holidays together and binged through countless Netflix shows, but no matter where they go or what they are doing, the two of them are just happy to be going through life together.
